Staying Connected in Cozumel, Mexico

Wi-Fi Hotspots

Most if not all of the restaurants and bars in each of the port areas provide Wi-Fi free of charge or at a minimal cost or with purchase. This is also true for the area of downtown San Miguel along the waterfront and Malecon. Please be aware that these are typically unsecure connections where anyone can see what you are doing and get access to your passwords. It is advised not to do any banking or other private matters on an unsecured connection.

Cellular Service

Cellular service is available for all major carriers through local partners.  You would have to add international service to your plan to avoid paying high rates (even with international plan the rates are relatively high).  Verify cost with your service provider prior to departure.  The best way to contact anyone is through Wi-Fi voice (VOIP), texting (iMessage or similar) or video (Facetime calls).
